Mike converses intelligently, provocatively, and easily with celebrities, politicians, academics, and bureaucrats, drawing out their personalities and weaving their insights and expertise into stimulating discussions.
A native of Wisconsin, Mike holds a master’s degree in music and education. His nearly 40 years in radio began in Beloit, Wisconsin. Mike then moved to Washington, D.C., where he led the development of WGMS into one of the nation’s leading classical music radio stations. His talk-radio career began at WRC in Washington and has included top-rated WRKO in Boston, WCKY in Cincinnati, where he was designated “Best Talk Show Host,” and public radio’s WAMU in Washington, where he was recognized with a number of broadcasting awards. Married with four grown children and one grandchild, Mike also conducts a local concert band.

Since 2003, Stephanie Guyer-Stevens has been the executive producer of Outer Voices, a radio documentary series about women leaders in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. She just wrapped up her fifth documentary called “The Price of Rice”—a profile of Vietnamese environmental leader, Tranh Thi Lanh. Stephanie talks about how she’s been able to fund her international projects.

Creative PR attended the Sheryl Flowers memorial service which was held at today, July 8, 2009, at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd., in Los Angles, CA.
Sheryl Flowers was the Director of Communications for The Smiley Group, Inc., a communications company founded by Smiley. But until May 2009 she had spent nearly five years as the executive producer of The Tavis Smiley Show distributed by Public Radio International (PRI) and prior to that was the senior supervising producer of The Tavis Smiley Show from National Public Radio (NPR) from 2002-2004.
