Creative PR clients receive grant from The California Council for the Humanities

Our clients, Richard Ziglar and Barry Yeoman have received a grant from The California Council for the Humanities to produce a new one-hour documentary called Zydeco in California. Previous documentary specials from Richard and Barry include Truckin’ My Blues Away, Still Singing the Blues, & Crescent City Blues

Zydeco in California is a one-hour, character-driven radio documentary on the zydeco community of northern California. The project explores issues surrounding the assertion and maintenance of ethnic identity through the re-creation of the musical culture of one’s original home. Zydeco artists such as Queen Ida, Ray Stevens and André Thierry will be interviewed.

Creative PR at the 2011 Public Radio Music Conference

The 2011 Public Radio Music Conference was held March 9th through 11th in the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC/WQXR in New York City.

 

Creative PR’s Kathy Gronau attended the music personnel conference at NY Public Radio.  The conference attendees included   radio station staff members, record companies, AFM reps, publicists, musicians, and heads of organizations like NY Philaharmonic. It’s was mostly about classical music but they went Dizzy’s Coco Cola Jazz club and the Met Opera. Kathy had a great time.
