It is our pleasure to announce that the Conservancy’s Isla Earth Radio Series won first place in the category of News Bureau at the Los Angeles Press Club’s 50th anniversary of the Southern California Journalism Awards ceremony on Saturday night . The LA Press Club has a long tradition of recognizing the best in journalism and it is a great honor for the Conservancy to be the recipient of this award.

As innovators in conservation practice, species recovery, and habitat restoration, the Conservancy is uniquely qualified to produce high quality science-based news stories about the environment and conservation. The Isla Earth Radio Series is one of the ways we share our expertise with the global community and help people understand the connections between themselves and nature.

Congratulations to Executive Producer Leslie Baer, producer Pat Florez, and all the wonderful people that write scripts, review scripts, work on the website, and market and fund raise for the program.

More information about Isla Earth is available here.
